Seoul National University of Science and Technology's (SeoulTech) Startup Support Center (Director, Jong-Seon Kim) announced that the 2023 Pre-startup and Startup Package beneficiary companies have donated 3 million won to SeoulTech. This represents a virtuous cycle where SeoulTech's Startup Support Center supports the commercialization of startups, and the beneficiary companies, in turn, contribute back to the university.

SeoulTech was selected as the only institution in the Seoul metropolitan area in 2023 to host both the Pre-Startup Package (PSP) and the Startup Package (SP). Accordingly, it will implement incubation and acceleration programs tailored to startup stages and growth, with a total budget of 18 billion won over four years. Furthermore, it was chosen as the host institution for the Global Company Collaboration Program, demonstrating its prominence as an innovative startup-focused university with its interconnected startup support and customized support for each stage of company growth.

Additionally, SeoulTech's Startup Support Center operates a variety of specialized startup programs, including prototype development support, investment attraction, and global expansion programs, as the host institution of the Makerspace, to support the growth of early-stage startups.

The ‘Startup Package’ is a project overseen by the Ministry of SMEs and Startups and managed by the Korea Startup & Partnership Center, supporting promising startups with innovative items and technologies within three years of establishment. It provides up to 100 million won, with an average of around 70 million won, in business development funds and support for entering target markets. In the Startup Package program conducted by SeoulTech in 2023, 30 startups were discovered over a year, leading to increased revenue and employment, as well as support for securing investments for each company.

Eight companies that benefited from SeoulTech's 2023 Pre-startup and Startup Packages participated in this donation. Among the Startup Package companies, Perfume Today (CEO: Jeong-Su Kim, Da-Hyun Yoo), which operates the fragrance sampling platform ‘PINDER’ and fragrance sample delivery service, and GamePro (CEO: Tae-Uk Hong), which operates the e-sports coaching platform ‘GamePT’, contributed to the donation.

The Pre-Startup Package companies that participated in the donation included Play Monkey (CEO: Ju-Seon Kim), which operates the online children's play club ‘Yeki’; Portzone (CEO: Jun Song), which operates the club-company project matching platform ‘I Love Club’; Playing More (CEO: Man-Ju Seok), which provides customized pet health and play services based on AIoT products; Aidan (CEO: Myung-Jin Lee), an eco-friendly upcycling jewelry manufacturing startup; the Third Market (CEO: Sang-Ho Yoo), which operates a certified pre-owned product trading platform; and I-Ple (CEO: Su-Jin Hwang), which develops eco-friendly rust and scale removal technology.

Representatives of the donating companies unanimously stated that SeoulTech's Startup Support Center had helped them navigate challenging domestic and international business environments and the startup ecosystem. They expressed their gratitude for SeoulTech's positive influence and decided to donate with the hope that more students and businesses could benefit.

SeoulTech's Startup Support Center plans to continue operating various programs to support the growth of startup companies in 2024, building on its startup support system, including the Startup Package. In particular, as the host institution for the specialized Startup Package program in 2024, it plans to focus on providing programs that help early-stage startups launch their products and services into the market.
