Seoul National University of Science and Technology (SeoulTech) Startup Support Center (Director Kim Jong-seon) announced that the 2023 Pre-Startup and Early Startup Package beneficiary companies donated 3 million won to SeoulTech. This is a virtuous cycle where SeoulTech's Startup Support Center supports the commercialization of startups, and beneficiary companies contribute back to the school.

SeoulTech was selected as the only institution in the Seoul metropolitan area to host both the Pre-Startup Package (Pre-Startup Package) and the Early Startup Package (Early Startup Package) in 2023. Accordingly, it will promote incubation and acceleration for each startup stage and company growth with a total budget of 18 billion won over 4 years. It was also selected as the host institution for the Global Company Collaboration Program, demonstrating its prowess as a leading university for innovative startups with its linked startup support and customized support for each stage of company growth.

In addition, SeoulTech's Startup Support Center operates various specialized startup programs, such as prototype production support, investment attraction, and global expansion programs, as the host institution of the Maker Space, supporting the growth of early-stage startups.

The ‘Early Startup Package’ is a project led by the Ministry of SMEs and Startups and managed by the Korea Startup Agency, providing up to 100 million won, an average of 70 million won, in business development funds and support for entering target markets, etc. for early-stage startups with promising startup items and technologies within 3 years of their establishment. In the Early Startup Package conducted by SeoulTech in 2023, 30 startup companies were discovered over a year, leading to increases in sales and employment, as well as support for investment attraction for each company.

Eight companies participated in the donation from among the 2023 Pre-Startup and Early Startup Package beneficiary companies at SeoulTech. Among the Early Startup Package companies, △Perfume Today (CEO Kim Jung-soo, Yoo Da-hyun), which operates the perfume scent platform ‘PINDER’ and perfume strip delivery service △Game Pro (CEO Hong Tae-uk), which operates the e-sports coaching platform ‘Game PT’, participated in the donation.

Pre-Startup Package companies include △Play Monkey (CEO Kim Joo-seon), which operates the online children's play club ‘Yeki’ △Portzone (CEO Song Jun), which operates the club-company project matching platform ‘I Love Club’ △Playing More (CEO Seok Man-joo), which provides personalized pet health and play services based on AIoT products △Aidan (CEO Lee Myung-jin), a startup manufacturing eco-friendly upcycled jewelry △The Third Market (CEO Yu Sang-ho), which operates a certified return product trading platform △E-Ful (CEO Hwang Soo-jin), which develops eco-friendly rust and scale removal technology, participated in the donation.

The CEOs of the donating companies expressed that they were able to lead their businesses even in the face of difficult domestic and external business environments and the startup ecosystem thanks to the help of SeoulTech's Startup Support Center. They said that they decided to donate to repay SeoulTech's positive influence and to hope that more students and companies can benefit.

SeoulTech's Startup Support Center plans to operate various programs to help startup companies grow based on its startup support system, including the Early Startup Package, in 2024. In particular, as the host institution of the specialized program for the 2024 Early Startup Package, it plans to intensively support programs to help early-stage startups enter the market with their products and services.

Seoul National University of Science and Technology has established and operates a Startup Support Center to foster a startup atmosphere and create a startup ecosystem through organic cooperation between universities and companies.
