Selected as the project operator for the second consecutive year, Kingsley Ventures aims to support the scaling up of these selected companies and drive innovation in the agri-food sector through global specialized programs that facilitate overseas expansion and collaborations.
TIPS operator and global accelerator Kingsley Ventures announced that it has officially launched the '2024 Kingsman Global Ground' program, starting with a kickoff workshop held over two days, April 25th and 26th.
'2024 Kingsman Global Ground' is an acceleration program for promising companies in the agrifood tech sector. It is operated as part of the '2024 Agrifood Technology Startup Accelerator Fostering Support Project,' hosted by the Ministry of Agriculture, Food and Rural Affairs and organized by the Korea Agro-Fisheries & Food Technology Institute (KATI). Kingsley Ventures has been selected as the operating accelerator for this project for two consecutive years, following its selection last year.
In its second year, 'Kingsman Global Ground' attracted over 200 aspiring and early-stage startups. 13 teams were ultimately selected based on their outstanding technological capabilities and growth potential. The selected teams are: Power to Farms, Cleanchain, SmartfarmE, Saefarm, Barca, Naefi, Anabolic Life, Soyu F&B, Signal Care, Rovers Company, BIOROOM, Motnanee Market, and S&E Company.
The kickoff workshop on April 25th included an introduction to the program's future activities, an overview of the KATI project, and a value-up special lecture (Unit Economics Analysis for Early Startups) to assist participating teams in developing their initial business strategies. A networking session was also held for project managers and participating teams.
Over the next seven months, the program will offer a variety of programs to support the growth of participating teams, including: investment attraction programs such as direct investment in promising teams, TIPS program linkage, investment review report mentoring, investment rounds, and demo days; acceleration programs such as dedicated mentoring, specialized mentoring, and network support; direct financial support (business development funds); and global specialized programs such as global market entry strategy consulting and meetings with FoodTech 500 representatives.
Junghoon Lee, CEO of Kingsley Ventures, stated, “Through last year’s Kingsman Ground program, we successfully discovered and fostered leading domestic agrifood startups, achieving results in various areas such as investment attraction and global expansion. This year, we will continue to spare no effort in supporting the scale-up of selected companies. In particular, under the banner of a global specialized program in the agrifood sector, we will do our utmost to achieve even more remarkable results in overseas market entry, collaboration with global companies, and investment attraction.”
