The Promotion Team is recruiting Jeju local food service businesses to participate in ‘Jeju Field Meal Campaign’ Season 3, which aims to promote the value of Jeju field crops until June 9th.

They plan to offer a ‘more bountiful Jeju Field Meal’ with local food service businesses under the theme of ‘Jeju Field Meal: Your Everyday Favorite.’

Following the development of bread using Jeju field crops last year, this year aims to expand the menu options, making it a go-to meal anytime, anywhere.

The Jeju City Rural Revitalization Plus Project Promotion Team (Director Lee Jae-geun, hereinafter referred to as the Promotion Team) is recruiting Jeju local food service businesses to participate in ‘Jeju Field Meal Campaign’ Season 3 to promote the value and appeal of Jeju field crops.

The Promotion Team launched the ‘Jeju Field Meal Campaign’ in 2022 as part of the Jeju City Rural Revitalization Plus Project, demonstrating the potential for Jeju field crops to become the star of the table, not just a side dish. Last year's Season 2 gained attention with ‘Bountiful Jeju Field Meal,’ where they collaborated with local Jeju bakeries to develop and commercialize bread using Jeju field crops.

The Jeju City Rural Revitalization Plus Project aims to promote the value of healthy field crops grown in ‘Jeju fields’ protected by Jeju Stone Walls, a Globally Important Agricultural Heritage System (GIAHS). It supports various activities based on the tangible and intangible resources of rural areas to establish a self-reliant development foundation and inject new vitality into Jeju City's rural communities.

This year, for Season 3, they are launching the ‘More Bountiful Jeju Field Meal’ project under the theme of ‘Jeju Field Meal: Your Everyday Favorite.’ Expanding beyond the focus on bread in the ‘Bountiful Jeju Field Meal,’ the goal is to develop a diverse menu suitable for brunch, meals, and desserts. This will ensure that both tourists visiting Jeju and local residents looking for delicious food can enjoy a wonderful meal made with Jeju field crops anytime and anywhere.

To achieve this, the Promotion Team is recruiting food service businesses to participate in the ‘More Bountiful Jeju Field Meal’ project until the 9th of next month. Businesses located within the administrative district of Jeju City, who resonate with the purpose of the Jeju Field Meal Campaign and are capable of developing and selling recipes utilizing Jeju field crops, are eligible to apply. Selected businesses will receive a certain amount of menu development funding.

The Promotion Team plans to select 15 businesses through a document review process, evaluating the originality, popularity, and feasibility of the menus. You can find detailed information about the schedule and application process on the Jeju Field Meal (@jejubaat) Instagram channel.

Director Lee Jae-geun of the Promotion Team stated, “We anticipate that the ‘More Bountiful Jeju Field Meal’ project will reaffirm the wide-ranging potential applications of Jeju field crops.” He added, “We encourage businesses that are well-versed in the value of Jeju field crops, and those curious about their value, to show their keen interest and participate.”
