Collaboration between large and medium-sized companies and innovative technology startups… Support for collaboration funds of up to 10 million won and workation

Jeju Creative Economy Innovation Center (hereinafter referred to as Jeju Center, Center Director Lee Byeong-seon) is recruiting startups to participate in ‘Open Ground’, a Jeju-style open innovation program that supports collaboration with large and medium-sized companies, until June 16th.

Open innovation is attracting attention as a new way for large and medium-sized companies and startups to cooperate and quickly secure new growth engines for the company. Large and medium-sized companies can quickly identify the technologies that customers want through startups' flexible organizational capabilities and technological collaboration, and startups can expand opportunities for securing business funds and investment linkage.

Jeju Center's Open Ground program is a collaborative project to vitalize the Jeju open innovation ecosystem through open innovation projects by creating an immersive collaborative work environment between demand companies and startups by linking with workation programs.

Last month, Jeju Center recruited large and medium-sized companies to participate in Open Ground. As a result of the recruitment, CJ ENM, CJ Logistics, Kyobo Bookstore, Evezary, Kakao Mobility, Hana Bank, and Hyundai Motor Company are participating.

Through this program, it plans to select about 20 startups to participate in the first meetup, and any startup located nationwide that can carry out the demand tasks presented by large and medium-sized companies can apply.

If matching with a large or medium-sized company is successful through this recruitment, collaboration funds of up to 10 million won, Jeju workation voucher utilization, office space, and follow-up support such as follow-up investment attraction and TIPS linkage will be provided.

Even if matching is not successful, if registered as a Jeju Center incubation company, consulting (1:1 in-depth mentoring and field-specific expert consulting) and promotion and marketing will be supported.

Startups wishing to participate can apply through the Jeju Creative Economy Innovation Center's Open Innovation page until June 16th.

Last year, Jeju Center supported 4 teams through an open innovation program that matched large and medium-sized companies with startups: Kakao-VPP Lab, Kyobo Life Insurance-Salary Pie, Hana Bank-Changtok, and Home & Shopping-Kakao Family. This support included collaboration funds and immersive workation projects.
