Reflecting the voices of exporters, the second recruitment round is being launched for the first time since the program's inception.

Improving the convenience of using export vouchers and actively resolving export difficulties faced by companies.

The Ministry of Trade, Industry and Energy (hereinafter referred to as the Ministry of Trade, Industry and Energy) and KOTRA (President Yu Jeong-yeol) are conducting the second recruitment round for the 2024 Export Voucher Program (Industrial Global Market Entry Capacity Enhancement Project) to strengthen the export competitiveness of small and medium-sized enterprises.

The Export Voucher Program, launched in 2017, has traditionally selected companies once a year. However, reflecting the voices from the export industry demanding a resolution to the high competition rate and an expansion of participation opportunities, the second recruitment round is being launched for the first time since the program's inception.

This project, a joint export support initiative by the Ministry of Trade, Industry and Energy and KOTRA, targets small and medium-sized enterprises in the following sectors: △materials, components, and equipment △consumer goods △services and △green industries. Last year, 453 companies were supported with a national budget of 16.9 billion won, and this year, with a budget increased by 1.8 times compared to the previous year (31.1 billion won), it is expected to issue the largest-ever number of vouchers.

The Export Voucher Program, which the government has been implementing since 2017, is a leading export support program that provides marketing services necessary for the entire export process, from ‘export preparation’ to ‘overseas market entry.’ Selected companies can freely choose and utilize over 8,000 export support services from approximately 2,000 service providers (performing organizations) within the limit, including △overseas marketing △overseas standard certification △international shipping △promotion and advertising. The 700 companies selected in the first round of this year are actively utilizing the vouchers to participate in renowned international exhibitions abroad, obtain key international certifications, and accelerate the expansion of their export horizons.

To enhance corporate convenience, the Ministry of Trade, Industry and Energy is continuously expanding the ‘post-payment’ sector, allowing the use of services from external organizations in addition to the voucher-registered performing organizations. The post-payment service, previously limited to △exhibition, overseas sales and marketing △overseas standard certification △international transportation △promotion and advertising, has been expanded to include ‘legal, tax, and accounting consulting’ this year. Furthermore, the Ministry intends to expand the scope of post-payment to include ‘document processing and local registration’ by the end of the year.

Meanwhile, an Export Voucher Plaza will be held in the second half of the year for companies selected through the second recruitment round of the Export Voucher Program. It will offer online 1:1 matchmaking counseling sessions with service providers and 1:1 export voucher utilization mentoring with dedicated expert advisors for each company, providing companies with essential information about the Ministry of Trade, Industry and Energy’s Export Voucher Program.

Companies interested in the second recruitment round of the Industrial Global Market Entry Capacity Enhancement Project can check the recruitment announcement on the Ministry of Trade, Industry and Energy website (www.motie.go.kr) and the Export Voucher website (www.exportvoucher.com) and apply until Friday, the 24th of next week.

KOTRA Vice President and Head of the SME Division, Jeon Chun-woo, stated, “Export performance has been showing an upward trend for six consecutive months as of the first quarter of this year, and the upward momentum is continuing. We will actively support our small and medium-sized enterprises’ exports through the Export Voucher Program to further strengthen their export capabilities.”
