Hongseong County, Galsan Agricultural Cooperative, and Palomi Agricultural Corporation join hands to produce representative regional specialty soju in Hongseong County
This agreement combines the capabilities and resources of each organization to create a sustainable agricultural ecosystem.
Hongseong County, Galsan Agricultural Cooperative, and agricultural corporation Palomi announced that they have signed a business cooperation agreement for mutual growth and regional economic revitalization to produce representative regional specialty soju in Hongseong County, Chungcheongnam-do.
Through this agreement, the capabilities and resources of each organization are combined to create a sustainable agricultural ecosystem through young talents, and a special occasion was prepared to anticipate regional economic revitalization.
The agreement ceremony was held in the Hongseong County Office's main conference room and attended by key figures from each organization, including the Hongseong County Mayor, the Galsan Agricultural Cooperative Chairman, and the CEO of Palomi Agricultural Corporation.
Through this agreement, the three organizations have promised to cooperate with each other for the following: △Active administrative and financial support for the cultivation of traditional liquor, △Maintaining and securing the supply of rice as the main ingredient, △Improving product quality and promoting sales, and △Enhancing the external image of Hongseong County.
In particular, Galsan Agricultural Cooperative and Palomi Agricultural Corporation have signed a contract to purchase 120 tons of rice annually, laying the groundwork for the production and revitalization of a regional specialty soju using 100% high-quality rice from Hongseong.
Hongseong County Mayor Yong-rok Lee stated, "Through this agreement, we anticipate promoting rice consumption and generating added value to revitalize the local economy, aligning with evolving liquor trends, and establishing the region's representative premium traditional liquor."
Palomi Agricultural Corporation, established in Hongbuk-eup in October 2022, produces soju using traditional methods passed down from our ancestors, naturally fermenting and maturing traditional ingredients like rice, nuruk (yeast starter), and water before distillation. It reflects modern trends, capturing the attention of not only the older generation but also the MZ generation. It has also launched a dedicated product, 'Golden Spirit Soju,' in collaboration with Nobrand. They will unveil a new representative regional specialty soju from Hongseong County at the 'Seoul International Liquor Fair,' which will be held at COEX in July 2024.
