Ministry of Culture, Sports and Tourism selected, Plan Competition-type Regional Tourism Development Project 'Hangeung Village Tourism Content Startup Nurturing' is under way

Suwon City, discovering and nurturing startup companies that will create new value by utilizing Hangeung Village tourism content

Business funding support, various acceleration programs, promotion, and distribution channel development support

Suwon Cultural Foundation (President Oh Young-gyun, hereinafter referred to as the Foundation) announced on the 9th that it will launch a project to discover and nurture tourism content startups that will revolutionize Hangeung Village in order to promote the local economy and tourism as part of the Ministry of Culture, Sports and Tourism's selected plan competition-type regional tourism development project.

This competition aims to create new value by developing tourism content using the abundant cultural resources and regional characteristics of Hangeung Village in Suwon Special City, expanding visitor experiences, and ultimately leading to the revitalization of the local economy.

Selected companies through the competition will have access to growth support programs such as △Business funding support △Dedicated business mentoring △Expert consulting △Promotion and marketing. This project is operated by AC:DC, a content startup specialized accelerator.

The target for recruitment is pre-startups or startups established less than 7 years from the date of announcement, △Local specialization type (development of new tourism content using local resources and infrastructure of Hangeung Village) △Experience content type (development of experience-based tourism content that tourists can participate in and enjoy) △Technology innovation type (providing new tourism experiences using innovative technologies such as AI, IoT, AR/VR) as well as regional symbiosis, and any other tourism content business items that can be proposed are eligible to apply.

The application period is until May 27th, and the business briefing session will be held on May 16th at the Suwon Cultural Foundation. Detailed announcements and business briefing session information regarding business applications can be found on the Foundation website.
