Beyond Honeycomb (CEO Hyun-gi Jeong) announced that it will showcase 'AI Sundae Steak' at the Mitsukoshi Department Store main branch in Tokyo, Japan, from the 15th, in collaboration with premium sundae brand 'Sundae Sillok' and Sundae Sillok's Japanese partner 'Himes Story'.
Beyond Honeycomb is a startup that has developed technology that quantifies the real-time cooking status of food at the molecular level, and based on this, a cooking robot automatically cooks food to reproduce the chef's taste. It has secured a cumulative investment of 9.4 billion won from LB Investment and others.
The 'AI Sundae Steak' being developed in collaboration with Sundae Sillok and Himes Story is a robot solution that analyzes the state of Sundae Sillok's premium sundae steak in real-time to achieve the optimal Maillard reaction and texture. After analyzing customer responses at the Mitsukoshi Department Store pop-up store, they will leverage the feedback to target Japanese consumers.
Kyung-hee Yuk, CEO of History Food, which operates Sundae Sillok, said, "The key to sundae steak is the ability to evenly brown the entire surface, and using AI allows us to provide the most delicious product to customers, which will increase customer satisfaction."
Hyang-hee Seo, CEO of Himes Story, expressed her pride in launching the sundae steak using AI, going beyond local production in Japan. She also hopes that this Mitsukoshi Department Store pop-up will be a stepping stone for Sundae Sillok and Beyond Honeycomb to become global brands.
