Plain Bagel, the operator of ‘Picka,’ launches AI tarot service ‘Tarot Market’
Provides an experience of chatting with AI characters in real-time through chat-type tarot for consultations
Plain Bagel, which operates the chat-type interactive platform ‘Picka,’ has launched ‘Tarot Market,’ a tarot service utilizing generative AI.
While existing tarot services have provided rule-based tarot chatbots that offer standardized responses, Picka Tarot Market has planned tarot masters based on generative AI, providing users with the experience of freely chatting with tarot masters in real-time.
Furthermore, Tarot Market is characterized by utilizing 6 characters from Picka’s original IP ‘Weekly Nam Sachin’ as tarot masters, instead of a single character. By leveraging generative AI technology with its original IP, Picka is expanding the scope of its content utilization and establishing a unique content domain.
Tarot Market is structured into three themes: fortune teller, love advisor, and worry advisor, with two tarot masters per theme. Users can select one of the two masters with contrasting personalities based on keywords including information about the master’s personality and speaking style. Based on these features, Tarot Market fosters a sense of connection between the characters and users, naturally receiving users’ concerns within a conversational context, and offering personalized solutions. Tarot masters are being sequentially released for each market, utilizing characters from the Picka story ‘Weekly Nam Sachin,’ bringing familiarity to existing users and sparking curiosity among new users.
Tarot Market utilizes tarot, a personal and intimate subject, as a conversation topic, but because the conversation is with AI instead of a real person, it provides a safe space where users can candidly share their worries and alleviate their anxieties. Through this feature, it’s possible to analyze conversations to determine the branching of content narratives, modify various AI functionalities such as tarot interpretation, one-time personalized responses for problem-solving, or free conversations within context.
The General Block provides functionality for setting fixed character utterances, choices, UI actions, and exception handling. Creators can freely use both ‘generative’ and ‘fixed’ types of script blocks to create content. This is Plain Bagel’s AI team’s unique technology that can enhance the game aspect while compensating for the shortcomings of conventional generative AI.
Within just one week of its official launch, Tarot Market has facilitated approximately 2,000 tarot consultations, with love consultations comprising 50% of the total, exceeding decisions (27%) and fortune (23%). Users who have tried Tarot Market have left reviews such as ‘I was surprised at how accurate and natural it felt, like a conversation with a real person’ and ‘It gave me the necessary advice based on logical reasoning, helping me solve my problems.’ This demonstrates that the Tarot Market service, implemented using generative AI, provides a natural conversational experience akin to having a tarot reading with a real person, satisfying users’ worries and curiosities they seek to address through tarot.

Meanwhile, ‘Weekly Nam Sachin,’ which served as the basis for the tarot masters, is Picka’s representative original IP, a chatbot survival content where only 7 out of 49 Nam Sachin (male friends) survive based on user votes. Through a real-time voting service, users cast their votes over a specific period, and only the characters who receive more votes advance to the next round. This story is considered a highly engaging content that has fostered fandom through active interaction.
